About The Project:
The Township of Red Rock has engaged the services of pl.ural, based out of Fergus Ontario, through a competitive bidding process, for the development of a Community Interpretation Plan. This plan will assess current logos, crests and other graphics used by the municipality in its interpretative, wayfinding and marketing signage, advertising initiatives and correspondence. Through this project, the consultants will make recommendations and work with the Township of Red Rock project team to develop a modern and accessible logo with graphic standards for various uses. This logo will then be used as the basis for future interpretation panels, wayfinding and marketing signage, advertising and correspondence. The Community Interpretation Plan will include the design of key interpretation components for various projects with recommendations and considerations for the development of future, more complex projects, such as colour pallets, and templates. These projects include but are not limited to: updated Marina Interpretation Centre Exhibits and Panels, or future exhibits; interactive playground interpretation panels; trailhead signage and viewpoint interpretation panels on hiking trails; historical walking tour panels; community wayfinding within the municipality; highway signage, and; advertising and publication templates. Relevant sections of the completed plan will then be implemented on a project-by-project basis as funding becomes available.
The first component of the community consultation process has started and the online survey is available below.
Paper surveys area available at the Municipal Office, Red Rock Public Library and the Marina Interpretive Centre until September 18th, 2023.
This project is funded through the support of the Parks Canada – Lake Superior National Marine Conservation Area, and Destination Northern Ontario
