2022 MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS
Notice is hereby given to the Municipal Electors of the Township of Red Rock in the District of Thunder Bay that in compliance with The Municipal Elections Act, R.S.O. 1996, as amended, the period for nominations in the said Township of Red Rock is from Monday, May 2“, 2022 to Thursday, August 18“, 2022 inclusive from nine o’clock (9:00 am) to four forty-five (4:00 pm) respectively, and on Nomination Day Friday, August 19th, 2022, from nine o’clock (9:00 am) to two o’clock (2:00 pm) for the purpose of nominating persons for the office of:
FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that The Nomination form shall be in the prescribed Form 1 (Nomination Paper); the $100.00 nomination fee, or in the case of Mayor $200.00 , is to be paid in cash or certified cheque or money order. Facsimile signatures are not acceptable.
AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that where, at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22“, 2022, the number of certified candidates for an office is the same as or less than the number to be elected , the clerk shall immediately declare the candidate or candidates elected by acclamation. On Wednesday, August 24 , 2022, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. additional nominations may be filed for the remaining vacancies in the office in respect of which there was an insufficient number of certified candidates, and the provisions of s. 33(5). A candidate that wishes to withdraw their additional nomination must notify the clerk in writing before 2 p.m. s.36
