Our enthusiastic community believes that a high quality of life is fully achieved in Red Rock. The community members participate in many activities that vary by season. Red Rock offers exceptional opportunities for recreation and leisure all within walking distance. The multi-purpose Recreation Centre overlooks Lake Superior and offers a multitude of recreational amenities including a four-lane bowling alley, a full gymnasium, fitness room, hockey arena and curling ice. The full-sized arena hosts Red Rock’s dynamic male and female hockey teams and has five days a week designated for public skating and shinny during the winter months. A host of programs are held at the Recreation Centre that will appeal to all different interests. Tennis courts, soccer and baseball fields are part of the complex. There are many associations and clubs that contribute to the town including Historical Society, Red Rock Fish and Game Club, Beautification Committee and the Live from the Rock Folk Festival. The Red Rock Fish and Game Club hosts an Annual Trout Fishing Derby the first weekend in June. The Beautification Committee keeps the town looking beautiful, making residents proud to welcome visitors and newcomers. The Live from the Rock Folk Festival annually hosts one of the finest folk festivals in Canada the second week of August. The festival features over 25 live performances on five stages and draws crowds in the thousands. If you like to fish, you will be in paradise here. The world record Brook Trout was caught near Red Rock. The Red Rock area has some of the best ice fishing in Northern Ontario. The fish in our area include the Walleye, Northern Pike, Muskie, Lake and Brook Trout, Small and Large Mouth Bass, Perch, Crappie, Sauger, Sturgeon and Whitefish. The Red Rock area is also great for hunting moose, deer and grouse. If you are interested in golf, you are in luck, because there is an amazing golf course in the area. North Shore Golf Club is a public golf course that is noted for its breath-taking scenery and is sure to challenge everyone.
