The Guardian Video Surveillance

The Guardian is a community public safety initiative in the Township of Red Rock.
In 2009, the Township of Red Rock established a video surveillance program with cameras in 2 locations viewing the Red Rock Marina and Salls St. business area.
Partners in Public Safety
The Partnership includes the Township of Red Rock and the Red Rock Quik Mart.
Designed to promote public safety, the objectives of the monitoring program include,
· Fostering and maintaining a safe environment at the Red Rock Marina and the downtown core.
· Deterring unlawful and anti-social behaviour.
· Advancing the appeal of the Marina to attract new patrons and promote economic activity.
· Contributing to the revitalization of the Township.
Summarized below are the principles that govern this system.
· Monitoring is solely for safety and security purposes.
· The information collected by this equipment will be viewed by authorized personnel only.
· Any information requiring reviewing shall be in accordance with the standards of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
· Signs identify areas within the view of the cameras.
· Cameras views are restricted to public spaces only
· Police continue their presence in monitored areas as they deem appropriate.
A Code of Practice governs The Guardian Video Surveillance Program.
