About Red Rock

The Township of Red Rock has a district high school serving the communities of Nipigon, Dorion, Hurkett & Lake Helen Mission. Red Rock Public & St. Hilary Catholic elementary schools also serve the community.

The community is served by two churches. St. Hilary Catholic Church & Red Rock United Church. From these come the Catholic & United Church Women's Leagues and Knight's of Columbus.

The historic Red Rock Inn has recently undergone a major restoration and now serves as a four season hotel/convention center. Red Rock maintains a full service, 50 slip marina and park on the waterfront of Nipigon Bay. An 8 km hiking trail has been completed over the mountain to Nipigon offering panoramic views of Lake Superior. The Nipigon-Red Rock Golf Club is located midway between the two towns.

The township supports a major recreation complex containing a 3 sheet curling club, Rose's Snack Bar, arena, bowling alley, senior's club, weight room, swimming pool, gymnasium and meeting rooms.

The major backbone of any community is it's volunteer organizations of which Red Rock has many. A 23 member volunteer fire department and a volunteer ambulance service highlight the list. As well we have minor hockey, curling, bowling, figure skating, senior's,  Rotary, slow pitch, youth soccer, fish & game, badminton, and craft clubs.
